Nitju Clayworks pots are all hand-made by Nitju Clayworks and are all one of a kind.

The quality of our ware is more than glaze deep. Our glazed and unglazed pots are vitrified by oxidation or reduction firing from cone 6 (2291 degrees F) to cone 10 (2403 degrees F), depending on the clay body. Too technical? Let's just say they are rock hard and more than up to the task of withstanding over-winter freezing.

All of the pots we make start as wheel-thrown pieces. Wheel throwing assures uniform thickness of the pot walls, which provides structural stability. Combining wheel throwing and altering allows both disciplined curves and traditional designs, as well as providing plenty of room for contemporary flights of fancy.
